Getto Songs // Visual Projections

Created for the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, this performance by Gołda Tencer weaves Polish and Yiddish songs with excerpts from letters and diaries written in the ghetto. Our animation accompanies these testimonies, drawing visual language from the fragments that survived.

Guided by Tencer’s message, we reach toward the presence of those erased from history. The animation creates a quiet visual tribute, reflecting on what remains and giving greater resonance to the testimonies of the survivors.

We evoke the shadows of those murdered in the ghettos and camps. What has been left of them is a handful of ash, a lump of sand sifted through time. The mouths of hundreds of thousands of Jewish children are forever silent, and some of the few who survived bear witness to the truth.
